Growing department at Upstate Medical University seeks a Physician Assistant to be an integral team member of a growing urology practice at Upstate.   The selected candidate will assist physicians in all aspects of patient care, primarily in an outpatient setting with some inpatient opportunities, including: pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative functions; monitors patients, assists in ordering of ancillary tests.  Other duties include providing assistance in office procedures; ensuring appropriate documentation; performing admission history and physical examination on surgery patients.  Additionally, the selected candidate may perform routine physical examination history and special procedures, placements/removals of Foley catheters, IV starts, stint removal, and Urodynamics, etc.  Will set up consultations and referrals with appropriate testing prior to appointment.   Ideally, over time, this professional will establish and maintain their  own growing urology practice.
Minimum qualifications include or New York State licensed/registered or NCCPA
certified or eligible Physician Assistant.  Possession of Medicare UPIN# or eligibility to
apply for same required. Prior experience in Urology is preferred, but not required.
